I DECLARE….BANKRUPTCY!!!

Hello world. This is my first post here on Return2Camelot. I envision this as a place of collaboration! I plan on moving all of my political discussions onto this venue, so as to avoid pissing off all the facebook novices who don’t realize they can tell their news feed to show less (or more) postings from any user.
Feel free to comment however much you want on here, there shall be no suspension of freedom of speech here.
So, for my first blog entry, I just want to state my frustration with the economic situation: so first the housing bubble bursts, which we all knew was gonna happen, and the credit markets dry up. And Congress agrees to give $700 billion to a member of the Bush Administration. WTF. No questions are asked of the banking execs, nobody scolds them for coming to DC on private jets…nobody even requires them to come testify before Congress!
And then, when the Big 3 come asking for money, claiming that they’re on the verge of bankruptcy, these same Congressmen lecture them, scold them, and tell them to come back when they’ve developed a real plan, and maybe, MAYBE, they’ll get some money. Well, they gave them squat. And why is this? Could it be because we’re talking about protecting the jobs on Main Street? Of blue collar workers? Of people who AREN’T guilty of white collar crimes that should land them behind bars?? I think we’re seeing a little of class warfare.
And so the White House, George W. Bush himself, actually agrees to bail them out. I’m not usually one to applaud Bush, but I’ve gotta hand it to him for this one. The Republican party is in shambles, and I for one am glad. There is something intrinsically wrong with the GOP as it stands today, with rich oil men thrown in with moral conservatives, Reaganites, and war mongers, all in one party, supposedly the party of Lincoln. I am proud of Bush for allocating some of the bailout money to go to Detroit, and sticking a fork in the eyes of his fellow Republicans!
